About Dee Sanchez:
I am an artist living and working in the village of Alameda, New Mexico. I am in my second year of the daily painting process and don't seem to be getting tired!
My work is acrylic on canvas outlined with commercial industrial ink. I call the technique "Connected Isolationism". After each piece is painted, every single shape, color, and shadow is isolated and outlined. This process is extremely detailed. Each piece is then triple sealed with a beautiful satin varnish. My paintings are painted around the sides and are meant to hang alone but can also be framed. I have a fantastic view of the Sandia Mountains at sunset. I love the smell of roasting green chile and pinon fires. I always thought I'd like to travel but anytime I'm away from New Mexico for more than a few days, I get anxious to get back home. New Mexico has a mixture of three cultures; Native American, Hispanic, and Anglo. There's nowhere else like it in the world. And the sunsets - to die for.
